falling behind?

I am falling behind on my little excercises of keyboard dexterity, haven't written anything for a couple of days. I've been rather busy, doing nothing except errands and thinking of all the stuff I should be doing ... like maybe paint the living room, hell even dust the living room!!! But now that I have a new car to tool around in, it suddenly has become very important to go to the store, library, and post office a lot. It's amazing how many things I have to drive to ... for instance, I HAD to drive my husband so he could get his haircut ... he probably couldn't drive himself. And I only had white bread in the house, so I HAD to go to the supermarket to get wheat ... it is better for you, you know. Now that you understand the reasons for my lack of attention to the blogging experience, forgive me. I will get better, I promise. This weekend will be busy too, depending on the weather I'm going to Franconia Notch in NH. If the weather is sucky over Saturday and Sunday, maybe I'll just take a "drive" up to Shelburne, Vermont and check out the Georgia O'Keefe exhibit at the museum. That's a good rainy day thing to do, I would like it, not so sure about the husband, though, he might think it's an awful long drive "just to look at the pictures." I'll have to come up with something that he would like to do also ... just to keep us out of the court system!!!

Ok, all's set with the computer world, I am back in business. I get frustrated and tend to talk to my monitor when I press something I'm not supposed to press on my computer and then ... kablooey ... I'm out of business for awhile. This is what happens when people quit one habit for another. They get confused very easily. Give up a smoking addiction and now I'm addicted to the computer. Is there a patch for computer addiction or maybe a clinic hidden away in the foothills of Marlboro Country?? I hope I can master the the blogging experience as well as I did the cigarette one, I'm having a lot of fun with it. I'm not too concerned about starting up again with the old butts, it has been 14 months since my last inhalation of the dirty weed, and it's getting easier all the time. As long as I don't suffer any more "we have reported your computer problem to our techs" pop-ups on the screen, I should remain stable and avoid the cold sweats of fond cigarette memories!!! Whew, got through yet another day!!

how ya chewin'?

Why is it that every time I go out to eat, I order, get my food, and just sink my teeth into something good ... that is the time the waitress will come over and ask the question? It never fails, it's worse than going to the dentist and being expected to converse while he/she has 10 fingers and 3 instruments in my mouth!! Yesterday, it happened again. I had wanted and waited all day for the lobster salad sandwich that my taste buds were going to fall in love with. I knew lobster was what I wanted, I didn't want a run of the mill hamburger or chicken sandwich, for once, I was going to eat like my tummy deserved goodness. I wasn't going to eat just because I had to eat. I ordered, and it came with French Fries and a regular salad, plus a big, tall icy glass of iced coffee. Oh boy, I was ready for the epicurean experience of my week. When it was placed in front of me, I had to first just take a moment to gaze upon its delightful promise of ultimate taste pleasure. Then, I gently picked up the sandwich, raised it to my mouth, took a bite, and began to chew and savor. At that precise moment the waitress came swooping over to the table with those infamous words ..."how is everything?" I just know she was lurking behind the large "seashells in the fishing net" decoration waiting for me to take my first long anticipated bite to pounce with her question. I really wanted to toss my ketchup covered French fries at her ( I don't like them, anyway ) but I figured that might be considered too combative and get me in trouble with some authority figure. I do not know why she couldn't have seen by the expression on my face that everything was more than OK. If I had needed any help or had any complaints, certainly, I would have called or waved her over post haste. Next time I go into a restaurant and the server comes over to ask me that question, I am going to have a litany of complaints. Of course, I will have to order something I don't really like. Maybe, I should rethink?

carz!!!!!!

My head is all awhirl ... listening to car salesmen does that to normally developed minds. I must have ridden in and driven 8 cars today, thank goodness they are all AC'd to the max. What a pain it is trying to find a new car, and listening to the salesman???!!!! That in itself is an excercise in my verbal restraint. Why do they have to go on and on forever about any car you should even happen to glance at. No matter what vehicle you show any interest in, they're right there on the back of your heels talking it up like it was put together by the Almighty Himself, and everyone knows he drives a chariot, or even, as one person has suggested, a white horse named Snowball! There must be a special school that car salsmen attend. I'll say one thing, they are not shy about keeping you at their desks all day while shuffling papers with figures, options, and various maintenance plans, those plans always sound suspicious to me ... if the car they're trying to sell you is so wonderful, practical, and "trouble-free" .... why do I have to be talked into buying a maintenance plan? I think that's called, "there's one born every minute. " At any rate, I am at home now contemplating which vehicle to have and to hold 'til my dying day ... because that's probably how long it will take to pay it all off so it's really all mine. But before then, I rest assured I will need yet another car!!

moving along to other things now

Enough already with the Keene stuff, gotta get out of the Granite State and back to the Mayflower. Cruising down Rt. 2 I notice all the "camoflaged" cell towers. Now here's a concept ... put up cell towers and fool people into thinking they are part of the natural environment by making them look like trees!!!! Oh yes, what a great success .... they look like part of a green plastic bristle brush Christmas tree farm!!! On second thought I've seen better looking fake Christmas trees at the local KMart. Why not just put up the cell phone towers un-camoflaged? There are enough wires and poles anyway sticking up out of our earth, what's a few thousand more? Or maybe I am missing some point and there is a reason for that particular environmental decorating idea? Maybe, plastic green bottle washer spires are the new look for our landscapes? Hmmm .....

at the colony mall

Looking out at the rain from the windows at the Colony Mall. Yes, that's where the kid dropped me off!!!! It was a bakery inside the little food court where one can purchase a Danish or coffee. Now, if it had been the one across from Timoleons I would have had a landscape of people to write about as they went to and from their places of work or pleasure. As it was, we did have lunch at Timoleons, the price was right, the patrons seem to be townies or elders. The elderly lady next to us always havd her rather large rear end facing in the direction of my face as she tried to manuever the left-overs of her lunch into a "bucket." The process was a long and involved one, that required her to sit, get up, and hitch her rear end around the table at least 4 times!!! Quite a show to say the least. The kid and I had a few chuckles over that one. Nice to have some entertainment while munching on chicken salad sandwich wraps. So much for yesterday, now today is a much nicer day what with the sun shining and throwing off its bright heat. Just the day to wash the sheets and towels and get them out on the line ... I only hang them out so when I bring them in I can bury my nose in them and breathe in the freah air, if it weren't for that whiff of clean air it would be the easier way of the drier for sure.

sometimes one just has to be patient

It's hard, I know, but you cannot be in a rush when the creative juices are trying to flow. I spent 2 hours this morning in the bakery section of the mall in Keene, NH writing in a journal all in longhand ... don't you think everyone who came for their pastries and coffee was wondering ... Hey, what's that thing she's holding in her hand? She's making it move across a piece of paper. What is it? Could it be? Is it? Maybe, why yes, it is a pen!!!!! Why doesn't she have a laptop? Maybe she's a poor, starving writer of famous words that have yet to reach the multitudes!!!! It's hard not to stare at her, though. She looks so very thoughtful and intense just sitting there scribbling away!!! Ah yes, that's what the senior citizens and young mothers with 3 year olds were thinking to themselves. Now that I look back upon the scene I seem to remember the older groups of people having a good time ... talking and laughing, comparing BP numbers and tales of grandchildren. The young mothers, they were tired and just wanted to get out of the house for a while, sort of a let's just let the kids run off all their energy at the bakery, it's too rainy for them to go out and play thing. The moms just sat there sipping coffee half-heartedly with their heads resting in their hands and their eyes rolling. Been there, done that ... good to be on the AARP end of things!!!

I am so excited ... this is my first time blogging. Oh yes, the things I will write ... sensational stuff, be assured, it will rock the world with it's brilliance and insight. Stay tuned for reading at it's highest level of entertainment.
